Overview
As Engine Automation Technical Expert, you will be the go-to specialist for embedded engine controls in Wärtsilä's 4-stroke automation solutions for marine and power plants. You will support customers worldwide, combine hands-on troubleshooting with software configuration, and contribute to product development. You join a global, expert team focused on safe, reliable automation and continuous improvement. This role offers global exposure, travel, and direct impact on advanced propulsion and energy systems.
Responsabilità
- Provide high-level technical support remotely and on-site to customers
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation and control issues
- Conduct site surveys, commissioning support, and field investigations
- Simulate and analyze field issues in automation lab using physical and virtual environments
- Perform root cause analyses and support reliability improvements
- Manage engine automation software configurations, upgrades, backups, and system modifications
- Analyze field feedback and operational data to identify improvements
- Prepare technical documentation (service bulletins, manuals, reports)
- Initiate, lead, and support product and process development projects
- Collaborate with R&D and other technical departments to enhance product performance
- Support product introductions, validation, and testing for next-generation platforms
- Act as technical reference point for product and field-related expertise
Requisiti fondamentali
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Systems, or related field
- Experience in technical troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Experience with embedded control or automation systems
- Strong analytical mindset and systematic approach to investigations
- Good communication skills and proficiency in English
- Willingness to travel ~25% of the time
