Mission

The Audiovisual Technician will support the IoT & Devices team in the installation, maintenance, and technical support of audiovisual and smart building systems deployed across classrooms, lecture halls, conference rooms, and other University facilities.

Working closely with the IoT & Devices team, teaching support staff, and faculty members, the successful candidate will help ensure the reliability and effective operation of multimedia equipment and control systems that support teaching, learning, and institutional events.

The role will also include partial involvement in the deployment and lifecycle management of end-user devices, such as laptops and smartphones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, replace, configure, and maintain audiovisual equipment within technical racks and AV infrastructures.
  • Provide operational support during preventive and corrective maintenance activities, as well as system upgrades.
  • Verify and troubleshoot audio, video, and network signal connectivity.
  • Deliver first-level technical support during lectures, conferences, institutional events, and other academic activities.
  • Monitor system performance, identify faults or anomalies, and coordinate maintenance activities with external service providers and technology partners.
  • Support the management of technical inventories and maintain accurate technical documentation.
  • Assist with the configuration, deployment, and distribution of laptops, smartphones, and other end-user devices.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the continuity and quality of audiovisual services across the University.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of professional audiovisual systems, including matrices, scalers, switchers, projectors, and displays.
  • Familiarity with Dante network-based audio systems.
  • Ability to read and produce technical diagrams and documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of IP networking and AV-over-IP technologies and protocols.
  • Strong teamwork skills and willingness to work in teaching and learning environments.
  • At least six months of study or work experience abroad.
Preferred qualifications
  • Previous experience, including internships, in audiovisual or IT environments within universities or other large, complex facilities such as theatres, television studios, sports venues, airports, or similar infrastructures.
  • Familiarity with audio configuration software such as Dante Controller, Q-SYS Designer, or Xilica.
  • Knowledge of the configuration and management of laptops and smartphones across Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-oriented approach to technical support.
