Field Service Representative (Nigeria) - GBTS

TXT E-Tech, part of the TXT Group, is looking for a Field Service Representative to join a strategic Aerospace & Defence project, providing maintenance and technical support for the Ground Based Training System (GBTS).
We are looking for a motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented professional who is eager to pursue an international career in a highly technological and innovative environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop specialized expertise while supporting the maintenance and operation of complex training systems.
The position includes an initial 3-month on-the-job training period at the customer’s site in Venegono (VA), Italy, working full-time on-site. Upon completion of the training, the selected candidate will be relocated to Enugu, Nigeria, where they will continue providing technical support and maintenance services for the customer.
What you will do

• Set up and maintain the technical support system by performing backups and defining recovery procedures;
• Periodically power on and shut down hardware systems to support training and operational activities;
• Perform routine technical inspections and visual checks to ensure the proper functioning of system components;
• Carry out scheduled and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with the applicable technical documentation;
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system malfunctions through corrective maintenance activities;
• Prepare maintenance reports documenting preventive and corrective interventions;
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and the customer to ensure system availability and operational continuity.
  

Required skills

• IT background with knowledge of Windows-based client/server architectures and networking;
• Knowledge of C, C++, and Python programming languages;
• Knowledge of onboard systems and the principles of air navigation;
• Excellent command of the English language;
• Willingness to travel and relocate internationally.
  

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the French language;
• Experience with training systems and flight simulators;
• Experience in troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and bug fixing within computer and electronic systems maintenance;
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
