Overview
As Senior RF Subsystem Designer, you will lead the specification and design of RF subsystems for critical space missions, ensuring robust data links with Earth and other spacecraft. You will contribute to cross-functional teams across mission programs and interface with the Ground Segment and Data Handling subsystems. You’ll address link budgets, data volumes, and subsystem procurement, while supporting integration, tests, and customer reviews. This role offers exposure to high-profile projects like ExoMars, LISA, and Deep Space Platform studies, with a strong impact on mission success.
Responsabilità
- Specify and design RF subsystems and units (Transponder, Antennas, RFDN, Cables, TWTA, SSPA, Switches)
- Define electrical and communication interfaces between Communications Subsystem and Data Handling Subsystem
- Design ground communication protocols, link budgets, and data volume estimates
- Procurement of communications subsystems and units via subcontractor activities
- Support Communications subsystem integration and test (AIT) with system avionics
- Participate in technical meetings and reviews with the Customer
Requisiti fondamentali
- Master’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering or Electronic Engineering or Aerospace Engineering with focus on telecommunication
- At least 3 years of RF subsystems design or testing experience at subsystem or unit level (Transponder, Antennas)
- Experience in analysis of spacecraft-to-ground communication scenarios and RF architecture synthesis
- Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink, FEKO, STK
- Knowledge of ECSS CCSDS standards for communications
- Knowledge of space-qualified components (memories, FPGA, ADC, DAC)
- Familiarity with DOORS configuration management
- Programming in C, C++, Python (beneficial)
- Proficient English
- Willingness to travel abroad and work with culturally diverse teams
- Ability to present and discuss solutions with the Customer
