Overview
As Drives & Power Expert you design and manage MV/LV drive systems for metallurgical plants, supporting overall plant performance within SMS group’s Center of Excellence Electrics/Automation. You will work across Tarcento, San Donato Milanese and Genova to specify, procure and retrofit drive solutions, collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams. Your role spans from design to testing and revamps, driving reliability and efficiency in high-voltage power networks. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape power systems for global steel and non-ferrous operations.
Responsabilità
- Design and order handling of MV and LV drive systems for metallurgical plants (400 V, 690 V up to 6 kV).
- Specification and procurement of main motors with major suppliers (ABB, Siemens or similar).
- Design and sizing of soft starters and/or DOL starts; specify protection devices for electrical users.
- Revamp drive systems and assess improvements for performance and reliability.
- Draft technical specifications and participate in supplier quality and acceptance tests.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and support global travel for project execution.
Requisiti fondamentali
- MV drive systems experience and familiarity with major suppliers.
- Analytical competence and ability to work in a team.
- Experience in services with a sales-proactive attitude is appreciated.
- MV experience is a plus; interest in MV power is preferable.
- Very good English language skills.
