A Snapshot of Your Day
What if your next project could power a ferry, shape the future of marine transportation, or transform the way an industrial plant operates?
As a Project Manager within our Electrification, Automation & Digitalization (EAD) business, you will take ownership of complex, high-impact projects from the moment they are handed over from Sales through to the start of the warranty phase.
Based in Milan, you will join our Execution Team in Italy and lead projects across exciting and diverse industries – from electric and hybrid propulsion systems for yachts and ferries to projects in Process Industries, Pulp & Paper, Chemicals, and Oil & Gas.
This is a role for someone who enjoys being at the centre of the action: connecting customers, suppliers, engineers, procurement, commissioning teams and international colleagues, while making sure that every part of the project moves towards the same goal.
Your mission is simple, but never easy: deliver successful projects – safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards – while creating value for our customers and Siemens Energy.
You will report to the Head of the Project Management Team, with responsibility for escalation, reporting and alignment with the wider organization.
How You’ll Make An Impact
You will autonomously lead the execution of assigned projects, from handover from Sales through to the start of the warranty phase, taking ownership of project performance, profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, aligning internal and external stakeholders on scope, schedule, deliverables and priorities.
- Take ownership of project budget, schedule, resources and P&L, ensuring delivery in line with Company targets and project objectives.
- Proactively manage risks, opportunities, non-conformance costs (NCC), claims and change orders, identifying threats early and driving recovery and mitigation actions.
- Work closely with Sales, Commercial Project Management, Procurement and Technical teams to ensure accurate revenue forecasting, effective procurement and successful project execution.
- Manage suppliers and subcontractors, monitoring performance and taking corrective or expediting actions when required.
- Ensure Safety First throughout the project, including compliance with EHS requirements, D.Lgs. 81⁄2008 and appropriate risk assessments and site inductions.
- Coordinate and supervise erection and commissioning activities, including customer-site coordination and progress review meetings when required.
- Build strong relationships with Italian and international customers, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction while protecting project profitability and contractual interests.
- Provide clear and timely project reporting to management and stakeholders, representing Siemens Energy professionally throughout the project lifecycle.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of Project Management experience, with a proven ability to independently manage projects of medium complexity or above, ideally involving multiple functions, organizations and stakeholders in an international environment.
- Experience with complex/EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction)-type projects and/or customer-site commissioning is an advantage.
- Strong contract and claim management skills, with hands-on experience managing contractual risks, changes and claims.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Economics, Management or a related field. IPMA Level C, PMP/PMI or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, engage customers and suppliers, and communicate effectively with senior management.
- A customer-focused, solution-oriented mindset, combined with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain effective under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Fluent Italian and English and willingness to travel approximately up to 40%, primarily within Italy. German or Spanish is a plus.
- Good knowledge of project management tools such as MS Project. An electrical background, particularly knowledge of drives and DC switchboards, is considered a plus. A valid Category B driving licence is required.
