Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Technical & Asset Manager to join our Asset Management team in Milan and take responsibility for the technical, operational and financial performance of a utility-scale PV portfolio in Italy.

The role combines strong technical expertise in solar PV with broader Asset Management responsibilities, including O&M management, performance optimisation, budgeting, contractual and regulatory compliance, reporting and stakeholder management.

The successful candidate will be a proactive and analytical professional, able to take ownership of issues, drive solutions and manage multiple stakeholders in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor the technical and operational performance of the PV portfolio, including availability, PR, yield, downtime and losses.
  • Identify underperformance and technical issues, perform root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
  • Manage relationships with O&M contractors and technical service providers, ensuring compliance with contractual KPIs, SLAs and performance guarantees.
  • Coordinate technical activities with Project Managers, Technical Advisors, site teams and other internal departments.
  • Prepare and review technical and asset management reports, dashboards and performance analyses for management, clients and investors.
  • Prepare and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, OPEX and revenue performance, including variance analysis and cost control.
  • Monitor compliance with O&M, EPC, PPA and other contractual obligations, as well as relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Manage interactions with GSE, Terna, DNOs, ARERA, Agenzia delle Dogane, insurers and other external stakeholders.
  • Support technical claims, O&M handovers, site inspections and resolution of significant operational issues.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to improve energy production, asset availability, profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to repowering, benchmarking, digitalisation and other portfolio optimisation initiatives.
  • Lead high-level meetings, support junior team members and contribute to continuous process improvement.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical knowledge of utility-scale Solar PV plants and operational KPIs.
  • Proven experience in PV Asset Management, Technical Advisory, O&M, EPC or similar.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Strong understanding of commercial, financial and contractual aspects of renewable energy assets.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong Excel skills; Power BI and other data visualisation tools are a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and take ownership of complex issues.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and solution-focused mindset.
  • Good IT literacy and interest in digitalisation, AI and new technologies.
  • Fluent Italian and professional working proficiency in English.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy, Economics or related field.
  • Solid experience in the renewable energy sector, preferably Solar PV.
  • Experience managing PV portfolios and/or O&M contractors.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.
  • Practical knowledge of Italian renewable energy processes and regulations, including GSE, Terna (Gaudì), ARERA and Agenzia delle Dogane.
  • Experience with SCADA / PV monitoring systems.
  • Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; Power BI and PVsyst are appreciated.
  • Experience with BESS / hybrid projects is a plus.
  • Availability for regular site visits.
  • International experience is a plus.
