We’re looking for a technically driven and detail-oriented Certification & Compliance Engineer to join our Design Engineering team, reporting to the Head of Certification & Compliance Engineering.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring that NHOA’s Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) meet international standards and certification requirements, working closely with R&D, Engineering, certification bodies, and test laboratories throughout the entire product lifecycle.
🚀 What you’ll do
- Analyze, interpret, and ensure compliance with IEC, UL, and other international standards
- Prepare technical documentation, including guidelines, analytical reports, test procedures, and application notes
- Design, set up, validate, and coordinate test benches for compliance and certification activities
- Select and manage laboratory instrumentation to ensure accurate and reliable testing
- Prepare and maintain technical dossiers for products and systems
- Conduct risk assessments and Reliability, Availability & Maintainability (RAM) analyses
- Coordinate certification activities with external laboratories and certification bodies
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
- Collaborate with TechSales teams to develop technical documentation for bids and tenders
- Support projects throughout the full lifecycle, from design to final certification
- Work closely with R&D teams to develop new products and ensure compliance from concept through certification
- Analyze fire detection, suppression, and alarm systems to verify compliance and performance
- Promote and ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and safety standards
What we’re looking for
- Master’s degree in Industrial & Information Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering
- Strong background in electrical engineering, electronics, and energy systems
- At least 2 years of experience in certification processes and international standards compliance
- Ability to engage in technical discussions with certification bodies and testing laboratories
- Understanding of EMC requirements, electrical safety standards, and grid codes
- Hands-on experience with measurement and testing instrumentation
- Fluent English; additional languages are a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical assessment skills
- Fast learner with a proactive and adaptable mindset
- Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
➕ Nice to have
- Previous experience with product certification, compliance engineering, or testing activities
- Knowledge of battery energy storage systems (BESS), power electronics, or renewable energy technologies
- Exposure to international certification frameworks and testing methodologies
Location: Hybrid remote and Milan Offices.
