Overview
In this role you drive cost control leadership for complex projects, shaping project performance and resource allocation within a leading contractor. You apply specialist cost management expertise to identify and solve costing challenges, collaborating across Project Controls to support bids, execution, and close-out. You will influence contract scope, forecasts, and risk handling on major energy projects, including subsea and offshore wind initiatives. This is a high-impact position for someone who thrives on innovative problem solving and cross-functional leadership to deliver safe, sustainable outcomes.
Responsabilità
- Interpret contracts and advise the Project Director on application
- Input to the Project Execution Plan and ensure proper project setup
- Coordinate financial, contractual, and administrative issues with Project Accounting
- Monitor costs and revenues; prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly reports
- Negotiate costs and revenue changes with client/subcontractors; escalate as needed
- Maintain and set up Project Controls systems; support claims development
- Develop the monthly estimate at completion (EAC) for the project
- Prepare financial and contractual correspondence related to Project Controls
- Maintain clear records of financial/contractual matters; monitor key milestones and dates
- Prepare contract supplements on larger projects; attend cost, progress, and contractual meetings
- Lead the Change Management process and manage PROM (Risk & Opportunity Management)
- Prepare the project close-out report and oversee cost/progress functions
- Support regional/global Project Controls with ad hoc tasks and benchmarking
- Collaborate to improve schedules, cost estimates, contract strategies, and bid support
- Ensure adherence to McDermott systems and processes
Requisiti fondamentali
- 12+ years of experience in project control activities
- Supervisory experience in a matrix environment
- Progressive experience working for a contractor
- Solid background in the oil and gas industry
- Familiarity with Primavera P6
- Degree in Engineering/Construction/Business or related field
- Ability to interpret contracts and coordinate project financials
