Overview

As an Installation Engineer at Hitachi Rail, you will design and verify installation layouts for railway systems, focusing on cables, routes, and interfaces across tracks and technical rooms. You’ll collaborate with BIM and design teams to align with contract and local regulations. You’ll resolve clashes, manage documentation quality, and support client-facing design decisions. This role offers involvement in cutting-edge rail technologies and cross-functional collaboration to deliver compliant, safe installations.

Responsabilità

  • Identify contract-driven equipment and cableway installation requirements and monitor compliance within the project
  • Design, coordinate, and verify installation layouts for railway systems (signalling, power, communications, etc.) ensuring contract and regulatory alignment
  • Plan cableways layouts in technical rooms and along tracks, optimize paths, and propose alternatives
  • Collaborate with BIM Manager/Coordinator to define BIM model information per the BIM Execution Plan
  • Prepare and lead clash detection sessions; resolve inter-technology clashes
  • Ensure design document quality per procedures across all design stages
  • Identify project risks and propose mitigation actions
  • Represent installation engineering in client discussions and support design choices
  • Use BIM and CAD tools to define and manage interfaces as per Engineering Management Plan
  • Coordinate subcontractors and manage technical interfaces

Requisiti fondamentali

  • 5 to 10 years of installation design experience in railway engineering
  • Site surveying on installation works or existing infrastructures
  • Ability to size pathways and raceways considering existing conditions
  • Familiarity with Requirement Traceability Matrix and Interface Registers
  • Technical management of subcontractors
  • Strong attention to detail and deadline adherence
  • Adaptability to project changes
  • Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks
  • Knowledge of Common Data Environment tools for BIM processes
  • Construction experience is a plus
