Overview
In this role you will apply data science to improve maintenance and reliability for Hitachi Rail’s railway systems in Naples. You will bridge field operations and maintenance, building prognostic models and dashboards to cut downtime and failures. You will work across data, software and engineering teams to enable CBM/RCM approaches and optimize train operation at scale. Responsabilità
- Design and review subsystems with maintainability, availability, reliability and CBM in mind
- Develop prognostic algorithms and rules using signals and operational data
- Build telemetry/diagnostic models (anomaly detection, forecasting, RUL) in Python/SQL, orchestrated on Kubernetes with Kubeflow Pipelines
- Create and maintain operational dashboards (Power BI, Grafana) for maintainers/engineers
- Monitor prognostic system performance and conduct statistical analyses to identify critical trends
- Support algorithm verification/validation including simulations and historical data analysis
- Study vehicle FMECA/FMEA and maintenance plans; participate in RCM design activities
- Coordinate diagnostic interfaces and on-board subsystems with on-ground systems
- Write and review maintenance procedures and train users on CBM
- Ensure Health and Safety policy compliance
- Undertake additional duties as required
Requisiti fondamentali
- Experience in railway domain (preferred) or other manufacturing sectors
- Proficiency in Python, SQL and version control (SVN, Git)
- Familiar with PowerBI and Grafana for dashboards
- Ability to read electrical, software (UML) and mechanical drawings
- Experience with production code on Kubernetes and pipelines
- Time-series/forecasting models for anomaly detection and CBM (RUL/survival)
- Statistical analysis and quality control in operational contexts
- Big data analytics (unsupervised/supervised ML, deep learning)
- Understanding of RCM methodology
- Ability to write technical specifications for software/electronic systems
