Overview
As an Application Engineer in Hitachi Energy’s eMobility RCoC, you will shape high-level charging solutions for public and commercial transport. You will work with customers, sales, tendering, and engineering teams to translate needs into optimized, value-based architectures and robust proposals. You’ll lead technical concept development from early engagement through tendering and refinement during project execution. This role blends cross-functional collaboration with hands-on technical design, empowering you to influence system approaches and unlock opportunities for optimization. You will be part of a multinational team focused on scalable eMobility solutions and customer-driven delivery.

Responsabilità
- Engage customers early to capture operational needs, charging strategies, site constraints, grid constraints, and future expansion plans
- Develop and compare high-level technical concepts for charging infrastructure, including architecture, scope, and interfaces
- Translate requirements into optimized, feasible solutions using the Hitachi Energy portfolio, identifying risks and opportunities
- Support Sales and tender teams by coordinating technical inputs and handing over concepts for verification
- Coordinate with internal specialists on power-system studies, grid connection, power conversion, charging equipment, energy management, and related interfaces
- Prepare and present technical proposals, design criteria, study scopes, and customer-facing material
- Support post-award activities to preserve design intent and identify optimization opportunities
- Use market insights to help Product Management improve offerings and guidelines for eMobility charging infrastructure
- Contribute to technical workshops, events, training, and knowledge sharing across regions
Requisiti fondamentali
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with emphasis on power systems, power electronics or Power System studies
- Around 5 years in application, power systems engineering including DC power supply, power electronics (Thyristors, IGBTs), MV/LV distribution, or industrial electrification
- Solid understanding of AC/DC distribution, power conversion, transformers, switchgear, protection and control, power quality and grid-connection principles
- Experience converting customer requirements into system architectures, specifications and compliant technical offers
- Proactive, results-oriented with strong analytical, communication, presentation, and teamwork skills across diverse locations
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings and project support
- Fluent in English; another European language is advantageous
