Your responsibilities and tasks

The Sales Area Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth and expanding GEA Bakery's business within the assigned territory.

Working closely with Front Line Sales organizations, customers and cross-functional teams, the role leads strategic sales opportunities, develops key accounts and ensures a strong pipeline of qualified business opportunities through a consultative and value-based selling approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute territory growth plans aligned with GEA Bakery's strategic objectives.
  • Drive customer engagement and build strong relationships with key decision makers.
  • Lead complex sales opportunities in collaboration with Front Line Sales organizations and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate account development plans for strategic and key customers.
  • Manage opportunity pipelines, forecast accuracy and CRM discipline.
  • Develop customer-focused value propositions based on productivity, performance and Total Cost of Ownership.
  • Coordinate cross-functional resources including Application Management, Product Management and Technical Offer teams throughout the sales process.
  • Lead commercial negotiations while ensuring profitability and long-term customer value.
  • Deliver Order Intake, Revenue, Margin and business growth targets.
  • Provide market insights and Voice of Customer feedback to support innovation and future business development.
Your profile and qualifications

Degree in Engineering, Business or a related discipline.

Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B capital equipment sales, business development or project-driven environments.

  • Proven success in managing complex sales cycles and strategic customer relationships.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills and business mindset.
  • Experience working in international and matrix organizations.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, pipeline management and sales forecasting.
  • Fluent English; additional languages are considered an advantage.

The position falls under the Italian National CollectiveLabourAgreement (CCNL) for the Metalworking Industry, with job classification and level to be defined based on the candidate’s experience and skills.

The indicative gross annual salary range for this role is between €70,000 and €100,000, depending on experience, technicalexpertise, level of autonomy, and market alignment.

The overall compensation package may also include variable components andadditionalcompany benefits, which will be discussed during the selection process.
