About Fondazione Piccolo America
Fondazione Piccolo America was established in 2012 following the occupation of Cinema America in Trastevere, aimed at preventing the conversion of an abandoned cinema into parking lots and apartments. The organization is dedicated to the preservation of disused cinemas in Rome, advocating against their transformation into shopping centers, hotels, and luxury student housing. Currently, it manages Cinema Troisi, one of Italy's most vibrant single-screen cinemas, and organizes the free summer film festival "Il Cinema in Piazza," which attracts over one hundred thousand attendees annually.
