Overview

In this role you will support ENGIE’s Italian S&EM activity by negotiating and drafting energy contracts and derivatives. You will work within a collaborative Italian legal team, engaging with trading, origination, sales, and risk functions to enable commercial objectives while managing legal risk. You will handle templates, high‑level negotiations, and regulatory matters to support Italy’s decarbonization efforts. This is a chance to shape how ENGIE delivers green energy solutions in a fast‑moving market.

Responsabilità

  • Advise, draft, review and negotiate energy offtake contracts, EFETs, PPAs, biomethane purchase agreements and related service contracts
  • Negotiate complex derivatives contracts (forwards, options, swaps, CFDs) and ISDAs, through until signature
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to support commercial objectives while mitigating risk
  • Draft and negotiate credit management documents (netting agreements, CSAs, letters of credit, guarantees)
  • Conduct regulatory due diligence and provide opinions on conditions precedent for commodities and financial contracts
  • Produce legal analyses and memoranda for governance and management
  • Monitor energy market regulations (EMIR, MIFID, REMIT) and train colleagues on related issues
  • Develop standard clauses, templates, and policy guidelines; support regulatory reform implementations
  • Provide guidance on events of default, breaches, force majeure, waivers, insolvency procedures and pre-litigation actions
  • Supervise external counsel and participate in ongoing S&EM initiatives

Requisiti fondamentali

  • Master’s degree in Law
  • Fluent English and Italian (oral and written); French a plus
  • Three+ years of energy commodity and financial derivative contract negotiation experience
  • Italian Bar admission is a plus
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and risk assessment capabilities
  • Commercial acumen and ability to manage governance and risk policies
  • Teamwork and cross‑functional collaboration skills
  • Experience with energy commodity transactions and derivative products
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to management
