Overview
In this role you will help design and build next‑gen optical communication products, spanning systems, subsystems, and photonic components. You will lead end‑to‑end design efforts, review processes, and collaborate with hardware and software teams to bring solutions from concept to field deployment. You’ll optimize performance, validate algorithms for link optimization, and resolve technical issues to support product releases. This is a chance to shape scalable optical technologies within Cisco’s AI‑era data infrastructure.
Responsabilità
- Design and development of optical transmission systems, subsystems, and components (including photonic chip layout, simulation and verification)
- Selection and qualification of active/passive photonic and discrete optical components for final products
- Development and validation of benchmarks, analyses, and optimization of communications algorithms for link performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across components, parts, products, or systems
- Support testing of new/existing designs and product releases
- Deployment of optical systems in field environments
- Lead design reviews of optical systems and products
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams to design optical modules
- Drive end-to-end project leadership and deliverables
- Identify innovative design strategies and opportunities to create cross‑product value
Requisiti fondamentali
- Bachelor's degree plus 7+ years of related experience, or Master's plus 4+ years, or PhD plus 1+ year
- Experience designing and leading optical systems, subsystems, or components
- Proven ability to lead design reviews and end-to-end projects
- Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills with hardware/software teams
