Network/IT Engineer – Hardware Deployment

Position

The Network / IT Field Engineer will be responsible for installing, mounting, connecting, testing, and troubleshooting IT hardware at designated customer sites, following the site-specific BOM and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and mount timeclocks, kiosks, tablets, monitors, screens, peripherals, and other IT hardware.
• Install and mount AP (Access Point) devices according to site requirements.
• Support AV installation and conference room setup, including screens and related equipment.
• Complete physical cabling, connections, PoE equipment, USB docks, and peripherals.
• Perform hardware testing, functionality checks, and basic connectivity troubleshooting.
• Work from the Bill of Materials (BOM) and report missing, damaged, or faulty equipment.
• Complete site documentation and handover to the site representative.
• Carry out remedial or return visits where required.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Network Engineer, IT Engineer, Field Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar.
• Strong practical experience in IT hardware installation and deployment.
• Experience with screens, tablets, APs, monitors, kiosks, peripherals, and AV equipment.
• Drilling and mounting experience is required.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools for installation work.
• Basic networking, PoE, cabling, and connectivity troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites and communicate professionally.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel between UK locations.
• Comfortable working with or arranging scaffold where required.
• Ability to use TimeCamp for accurate project time tracking.

Tools

• Engineers must have access to the necessary tools for drilling, mounting, cabling, AP installation, and general IT hardware deployment, including appropriate hand/power tools and testing equipment.
