Job Overview
The Supplier Quality Engineer position is located in Arcore.
Work in a team environment with suppliers to develop standard methodologies that emphasize defect prevention and waste for continuous improvements in meeting all customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Collect root cause analysis and provide corrective feedback to prevent line stops.
- Handle customer‑specific requirements and offer technical support to suppliers.
- Ensure that products produced meet quality standards required to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction, while adhering to procedures and processes.
- Maintain the robustness of product builds following new product introductions.
- Work on multiple phases or sub‑tasks of projects, or entire projects of moderate complexity.
- Operate under general supervision, with projects reviewed at achievements and/or on completion by senior management.
- Carry out supplier validation audits with supplier support and supplier‑sophisticated product quality planning (APQP).
- Produce complete and accurate documentation and manage inspection and test status requirements.
- Participate in multi‑functional teams (with Design and Manufacturing Engineers) to define process parameters and criteria for developing new products or changes to current products in order to meet customer requirements.
- Assist in the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities.
- Assist with new product launches and sample approvals to ensure supplier quality meets the required standards.
- Perform root cause analysis of problems and resolve them through corrective actions of supplier quality issues.
- Apply techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six‑Sigma, and Poka‑Yoke (Error Proofing).
- Conduct on‑site supplier visits to verify corrective actions.
- Deliver training on quality awareness to people within the work group.
- Lead and coordinate supplier issues, problem solving on time, cost recovery, and supplier warranty indicators.
- Support and lead process improvement activities at the supplier.
- Write reports, present progress at project meetings and to clients, achieve goals within budget, and stay ahead of changes that may affect supply and demand of necessary products and materials, advising others of any impact.
- Support technicians and trainee engineers.
- Develop and maintain respectful and efficient communication, fostering positive relationships with internal and external collaborators to ensure efficient performance.
